Scope and approach

We work to ensure that guides and tools can be used with different abilities, technologies, and screen sizes. We use WCAG 2.2 as a reference for improvement and review interface changes.

This page describes our approach and available resources. It does not claim certification or full conformance based on an independent audit of the entire site. Barriers may exist in third-party content, tools, or documents.

Reading, zoom, and movement

You can zoom in on the page using your browser’s features. Content adapts to small screens, and long tables can be scrolled horizontally within their own container.

Reduced-motion preferences on your device are respected in components that use animations. You don’t need to turn on sound or play automatic content to read a guide. The print version lets you keep a copy for reading.

Forms, results, and alternatives

The tools show labels, units, required fields, and validation messages. Their calculations require JavaScript; when it isn’t available, a blank CSV template is provided where applicable. CSV files require a compatible application and may retain data you’ve added.

The newsletter has a form in the dialog and can also be accessed from its page. Subscribing requires email confirmation. We don’t use a visual CAPTCHA test to sign up for SelfChapter.

Known limitations

Some tables require horizontal scrolling; tools with many rows may require more keyboard navigation. Charts and results should be interpreted alongside the available explanations and tables.

Official documents and other linked resources are maintained by their authors. Linking to an alternative does not guarantee that it is accessible. You can let us know about a difficulty so we can consider an explanation or an accessible alternative source.

Report a barrier and follow up

Contact SelfChapter and include “SelfChapter · Accessibility.” Provide the URL, the task you couldn’t complete, and, if you know them, your browser, device, or assistive technology. You don’t need to explain a disability or provide medical documentation.

Your message helps us identify and prioritize improvements. If you need an alternative format, mention it in your message so we can consider the available options. We’ll update this information when resources or the scope of reviews change.
